Bill Vatovec is an outcome driven and community focused mining executive with over 40 years’ experience in the global resources industry. Bill has previously worked in executive leadership roles for KEPCO, Vale and BHP ranging from planning approvals, safety, compliance, construction, including senior on site operational experience in large-scale mining and processing operations throughout Australia and internationally..
Bill has held the position of General Manager Operations and Mining Engineering Manager (MEM) for Wollongong Resources since 2022.
Bill is a qualified Mining Engineer holding an NSW Practicing Certificate in MEM of underground coal mines. Bill’s qualifications include, an MBA, Master of Science (Honors) in Total Quality Management from the University of Wollongong, NSW and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Bill is a lifelong resident of the Illawarra region and is passionate in making the local and indigenous communities, government and business work together successfully for the benefit of our region.
